Rev. Guy Henry Udell,
62, founder and pastor of the Full Gospel Assembly church of
Hartford, died
[December
15, 1966] suddenly in his home
Thursday night, the victim of an apparent heart attack.
Rev. Udell’s home is located on route 2, Hartford.
He was born n McDonald Aug. 31, 1904, the son of Loren
and Lillie Udell. He married the former Harriette Carter
on March 6, 1923 in Van Buren county.
The Rev. Udell organized the church of which he served
as pastor in 1945. His widow survives along with three sons,
Lloyd, of Ada; Loren, of Niles, and Robert of Grand Rapids.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren; two brothers, Vor, and
Max, of Grand Rapids, and a sister, Mrs. Iva Wilson, of
Hartford, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the church beginning at
10 a.m. today until the hour of the funeral service at 2: p.m.
Monday. The Rev. William Spencer, the Rev. Reginald Roe,
and the Rev. John Whitsitt will officiate at the services.
Friends may call at the church.
Burial will be in the Maple Hill cemetery.

Katherine Olds – Mrs.
Carl (Katherine) Olds, 73, died Sunday [10-30-1966] at a South
Haven rest home where she had been a patient since August.
Funeral mass will be held this morning, Nov 2, at
Immaculate Conception church followed by burial in Maple Hill
cemetery.
Mrs. Olds retired from the Bureau of Social Aid in
1961. She had been case supervisor in the county office.
Mrs. Olds, a native of Dowagiac, is survived by two
sons, Robert of Muskegon and John of Hartford; a daughter, Mrs.
George (Mary Louise) Marcopulos of Atlanta, GA; a brother,
Robert Kinnane of Detroit, and six grandchildren.
The Rosary was recited at the Calvin Funeral home
Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Thelma Terry,
64, died Sunday [5-22-1966] at Community hospital. Requiem high
mass was celebrated Tuesday morning at Immaculate Conception
Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert Stockwell as celebrant. Burial
was in Maple Hill cemetery. The Rosary was recited Monday
evening at the Calvin chapel.
Mrs. Terry was born at Lawrence. She is survived by her
mother, Mrs. Letha Combes with whom she had lived; a daughter,
Mrs. George (Patti) Falkner; two sister, Mrs.
Helen Willmeng and
Mrs. Jean Johnson; and one granddaughter.

Funeral
services for Roy S. Grosse, 67, retired postal employee,
were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Calvin Funeral home. He died
Thursday [March 3, 1966] at his home here.
Grosse retired from the postoffice in November, 1963,
after 30 years clerk, and carrier. For many years, the red
station wagon he used to carry mail between the postoffice and
depot was a familiar sight in Hartford.
Grosse was valedictorian of his senior class of 1917,
but he enlisted in the army and left two weeks before
commencement exercises, so during commencement, his chair was
draped with an American flag.
Grosse was a longtime Hartford fireman and was an avid
fisherman and fox trapper. In recent years, the hobby of
citizens band radio occupied much of his time.
Grosse is survived by his wife, the former Tranquil
Simpson, who he married at Rolling Prairie, Ind., in 1928; a
daughter, Mrs. James (Claudette) Wolfe of Laon, France; a son,
Douglas of Clovis, N.M.; a sister, Mrs. Marie Gearing of Leslie,
Mich.; two brothers, Mark of Benton Harbor and George of Three
Oaks, and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Lyell Smith officiated at the services and
burial was at Maple Hill cemetery.
