Community Honors
from Hartford MI

In 1993, the Hartford Lions Club started an important yearly tradition of selecting and honoring a Hartford Citizen of the Year who made a significant difference in our community. Grant Hitchcock, a life member of the Hartford Lions Club was the first Hartford Citizen of the Year.  He was loved and honored by many for all his hard work and volunteer service to the community.
The first three recipients of the
Grant Hitchcock Lifetime Achievement Award were selected in 2006 for their notable service to the Hartford community.
Throughout the years, there were many members of our community that, for one reason or another, did not graduate or did not attend Hartford schools, yet, they made significant contributions to help make Hartford a better place to live.  We have ordinary people who are heroes because their unselfish acts or deeds toward helping others became a priority in their own lives.  It’s time to show our Hartford citizens, and future generations, who they are and what they’ve done that made them so special.
